Jack's arrival in HxH world - Chapter 5
Chapter 5: Evolution of Power
The moment Jack completed the quest of teaching Gon about Nen, a flood of notifications erupted in his vision. The system rewarded him with a staggering 10,000 EXP, a number so large it made his head spin. For a moment, he just sat there, staring at the glowing text, his heart pounding with excitement. This was a game-changer. With this much EXP, he could drastically improve his abilities and prepare himself for the challenges ahead.
But first, he needed to strategize. Jack opened his system interface and began allocating his newfound wealth of EXP. He started with his Nen skills, knowing that mastering them would be crucial for his survival in this world.
—
Jack first focused on Ten, the foundational Nen technique that allowed him to maintain a protective aura around his body. He spent 500 EXP to level it up from Level 1 to Level 2. The upgrade felt immediate—his aura became more stable, and he could sense a slight increase in his overall durability. But he didn’t stop there. He invested another 1,000 EXP to push Ten to Level 3.
As soon as Ten reached Level 3, something extraordinary happened. The skill transformed from an Active Skill to a Passive Skill. Now, even when he was sleeping or unconscious, Ten remained active, constantly protecting him. The implications were profound. Not only did this make him more resilient, but it also slowed down his aging process. Based on his calculations, his aging speed had decreased to one-third of a normal person’s. At this rate, he could live up to 240 years—a thought that both thrilled and unnerved him.
Emboldened by this success, Jack repeated the process with Zetsu and Ren. He spent 1,500 EXP on each skill, leveling them up to Level 3. Now, his ability to conceal his aura (Zetsu) and amplify it (Ren) became much better, giving him an edge in both stealth and combat.
—
With his Nen skills upgraded, Jack turned his attention to the new abilities he had unlocked. The system had granted him two skills:
1. Dash (Level 1 – Active Skill): This skill allowed him to temporarily increase his speed. At Level 1, his speed based on his Agility stat. The cost was 100 AP for activation and 7 AP per second for sustained use.
2. Detoxification (Level 1 – Passive Skill): This skill automatically cleansed his body of basic poisons as soon as they were detected in his bloodstream. At higher levels, it would neutralize more potent toxins.
Jack didn’t hesitate. He spent 1,500 EXP to level up Detoxification to Level 3, making him highly resistant to most poisons. Then, he invested another 1,500 EXP into Dash, boosting it to Level 3. Now, Dash allowed him to increase his speed by 3x his Agility stat, though the AP cost remained the same. This made him incredibly fast, a valuable asset in both combat and evasion.
—
After upgrading his skills, Jack had 2,500 EXP left. He decided to use this to level up his base level. The system required progressively more EXP for each level, but with 2,470 EXP, he managed to climb from Level 13 to Level 25. Each level-up granted him 5 Free Stat Points, and by the time he reached Level 25, he had accumulated 60 Free Stat Points.
Jack took a moment to review his updated stats:
—
HP: 1,300/1,300 [Recovery 1% per minute]
AP: 26,000/26,000 [Recovery 1% per minute]
Level: 25 (0/351)
Aura Control: 11%

Strength: 20
Agility: 10

Passive Skills: Gamer (Level Max), Detoxification (Level 3)
Active Skills: Ten (Level 3), Zetsu (Level 3), Ren (Level 3), Dash (Level 3)
Free Stat Points: 60
—
Jack felt a surge of pride as he looked over his stats. He had come a long way since arriving in this world, and his progress was undeniable. But he wasn’t done yet. He still had 60 Free Stat Points to distribute, and he needed to do so wisely.
—
### Distributing Stat Points
Jack spent some time analyzing his attributes and their effects:
– Strength: Each point increased his physical power by 500 kg. At 20 Strength, he could lift 10 Tons—a staggering amount.
– Agility: Each point enhanced his reflexes and speed. At 10 Agility, he was already faster than most humans, and with Dash (Level 3), he could temporarily boost his speed to 3x this value.
– Vitality: Each point increased his HP by 50 and improved his stamina. At 11 Vitality, he had 1,300 HP and a recovery rate of 1% per minute.
– Intelligence: Each point increased his AP, AP recovery, and Aura Control. At 10 Intelligence, he had 26,000 AP and an 11% Aura Control.
– Senses: Each point sharpened his physical senses and aura perception. At 16 Senses, he could detect faint auras from a distance and perceive subtle changes in his environment.
After careful consideration, Jack distributed his 60 Free Stat Points as follows:
– Strength: +10 (Total: 30)
– This increased his lifting capacity to 15 Tons, making him a physical powerhouse.
– Agility: +10 (Total: 20)
– This enhanced his reflexes and speed, making him even more formidable in combat.
– Vitality: +10 (Total: 21)
– This boosted his HP to 1,800 and improved his stamina further.
– Intelligence: +10 (Total: 20)
– This increased his AP to 36,000 and his Aura Control to 12%.
– Senses: +20 (Total: 36)
– This heightened his perception, allowing him to detect even the faintest auras and movements.
With his stats updated, Jack felt a surge of power coursing through him. He was stronger, faster, and more resilient than ever before.
—
Jack decided to test his upgraded skills and stats. He activated Dash (Level 3) and felt his body surge forward with incredible speed. The world around him blurred as he raced across the beach, his movements almost too fast to track. He deactivated the skill after a few seconds, grinning at the sheer exhilaration of it.
With normal agility, he can reach at the speed of 20m/s. With Dash skill, he can reach at the speed of 60m/s. Which is almost equivalent to Killua Zoldyck when he uses his Speed of Lightning.
Next, he tested his Detoxification skill by consuming a small amount of a mild poison he had found in the forest. Within seconds, his body neutralized the toxin, leaving him unharmed. The skill worked flawlessly.
Finally, he practiced his Ten, Zetsu, and Ren techniques, marveling at how effortlessly he could now control his aura. His Aura Control had improved to 12%, and he could feel the difference in his precision and efficiency.

As the sun set over Whale Island, Jack sat on the beach, reflecting on his journey so far. He had come a long way since arriving in this world, and his bond with Gon had grown stronger with each passing day. Together, they had trained, laughed, and shared their dreams. Jack knew that the Hunter Exam was just around the corner, and with his newfound power, he felt ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
But he also knew that this was just the beginning. The world of *Hunter x Hunter* was vast and filled with dangers, and there was still much to learn and discover. For now, though, Jack allowed himself a moment of peace, watching the waves crash against the shore and feeling the warmth of the setting sun on his face.
