Talisman Magic in Harry Potter - Chapter 16

Chapter 16 Sorting Ceremony (Part 1)
After getting out of the carriage, Andros pulled Hermione to move slowly along the crowd to avoid being separated.
Seeing Andros, who was walking in front of her, pulling his sleeve, her face couldn’t help but blush.
“The wind is quite strong, keep warm.”
When he reached a place with few people, Andros released his hand and reminded her back.
Hermione blinked and said nothing.
“All first-year freshmen are here!” a huge burly man yelled in the freezing cold wind holding a bright oil lamp.
“Be careful, follow me, don’t go away.” Seeing Hermione nodded, Andros safely led her towards the dangling light.
“Are there still freshmen in the first grade? Well, you don’t need to be afraid of me. I’m the Hogwarts hunting ground manager-Hagrid, everyone follow me, and be careful on the road.” Hagrid clicked when no one was approaching. Counting the number of people, led a group of little wizards onto a narrow and steep path.
Perhaps because of the dark environment in the surrounding woods and the uneven road conditions, Hermione took the initiative to stretch out a small hand and grabbed Andros’s clothes on the back side of the waist.
Realizing that Hermione couldn’t keep up with herself, Andros slowed down a little.
I really don’t know why the school didn’t repair this road. In order to let the little wizard who just entered the school experience the experience of the school founder, I don’t have to do this.
Andros immediately activated Pig talisman, and suddenly night turned into day for him.
His night vision is really just too good, and he easily started to avoid the uneven path.
But from the stumbling pace of the little wizards around him, it was clear that such a speed was still somewhat reluctant for them.
After walking for a long time and turning a corner, the long and narrow deer finally opened up.
In the distance, a huge castle with many turrets and high towers is located between two big mountains, facing the little wizards across a large dark lake. The glass on its windows is shining brightly under the stars.
That is Hogwarts.
Andros once again activated his Rooster talisman, and deactivated Pig talisman. Because he didn’t want to miss the beauty of Hogwarts in night.
Going down to the lake carefully, Andros and Hermione took Neville and another strange girl into a small boat, followed them across the mirror-level lake, and across the cliff covered by an ivy curtain. The entrance to the residence, along a black waterway running directly under the castle, it took a long time to reach an underground port.
By the time they got off the boat, the little wizards were too tired to walk. After having not eaten dinner and having consumed so much energy, several little wizards had directly sat on the ground.
So everyone took a break.
Fortunately, Neville finally recovered the toad he had been missing for a long time, and Hagrid found it on the boat.
After the three expressed their gratitude to Hagrid, the little wizards set off again.
Guided by Hagrid’s light, he climbed up the passage between the rocks on the shore, and finally came to a damp and level grass in the shadow of the old castle.
Walking up a stone ladder, Hagrid raised his huge fist and knocked on the door three times.
The door opened immediately, and Andros recognized the witch in the emerald green robe—she was Professor McGonagall.
“Professor, the first-year students are here.” Hagrid reported.
“Okay.” Professor McGonagall glanced at the number of people and confirmed: “Thank you, I will take them in.”
“Welcome to Hogwarts, children, everyone follow me, remember not to fall behind.” Professor McGonagall glanced at the little wizards and said solemnly.
The little wizards followed Professor McGonagall into the castle excitedly. The inside was amazingly big. The torches illuminated the stone wall brightly, and the high roof and the white marble stone steps made the little wizards open their mouths in surprise.
Hermione, who had never seen such a sight before, looked around excitedly. She even felt that her eyes were not enough, and she kept uttering compliments in her mouth.
Professor McGonagall took the freshmen to a small vacant room away from the noisy hall.
She also briefly talked to everyone about the opening banquet and the branching ceremony, and then asked the little wizards to prepare and leave temporarily.
Hearing the crowd not far away discussing the method of the sorting ceremony, Hermione couldn’t help but intervene.
But when Hermione mentioned that they could use several kinds of magic, Andros couldn’t help but shook her head.
Andros could see that this was probably a way for Hermione to vent her pressure, but it was not appropriate, because people who heard it would often think it was showing off, because Hermione was indeed better than them.
Andros caught Hermione in time and asked in a low voice: “Hermione, which House are you going to go to?”
“Of course it’s Gryffindor!” Hermione replied without hesitation: “I have seen in “Hogwarts: A School History”. Dumbledore, the greatest white wizard of this century, came from Gryffindor. I want to be one of graduated from Gryffindor. How about you? Andros.”
Seeing Andros smile without speaking, Hermione pursed her lips to express her dissatisfaction with Andros. Just as she wanted to continue to ask questions, a group of white ghosts suddenly emerged from the wall attracted her attention.
Before long, when the ghosts were about to leave, Professor McGonagall reappeared in front of the little wizards.
“Stand in a line,” Professor McGonagall told the freshmen: “Follow me now!”
So Andros lined up behind Hermione, followed the team through the opposite door, and entered the Great Hall.
The hall is very glorious. The senior students and teachers have already sat in their seats. Thousands of candles above their heads are floating in the air, illuminating the hall with bright lights, and the tables are also filled with glittering gold plates and goblets.
“Look, that’s the enchanted ceiling mentioned in ‘Hogwarts: A School History’.” Hermione turned her head and motioned for Andros to look up.
The ceiling above the head is indeed very distinctive. The inky black background is dotted with countless stars of various colors. The gleaming appearance seems to really make people see the beautiful night sky. Andros can even recognize a few familiar Constellation.
Professor McGonagall placed a four-corner stool in front of the first-year freshmen, and then gently placed the must-have and old verification wizard hat on it.
It’s really hard to imagine that there is such an old and dirty hat in the world. Couldn’t the greatest white wizard of this century clean up this hat?
Seeing that the hat was put down, everyone was quiet.
The sorting hat twisted a few times, and a crease opened and closed like a mouth, and began to sing in its ugly tone.
Andros does not have a habit of cleanliness, but any person with normal thinking would not have a good impression of dirty things. In addition, this hat also has the ability to spy thinking, and Andros is even more reluctant to wear this hat.
Thinking that Dumbledore, the principal sitting in the upper central armchair at this moment, is also a master of using the spell of “Legilimency”, Andros regretted not thinking about this earlier and learning some spells that could protect his brain in advance.
Andros lowered his head, preparing to make a careful plan after the first week of school.
At this time, the applause came to mind.
It turned out that the Sorting Hat had already sung its song, so Andros only recovered and took a few shots.
Seeing everyone around him focused their attention on the hat, Andros quietly applied a hypnotism to himself, giving himself a temporary targeted hypnosis.
