Sabertooth - Chapter 22

Chapter 22: Sugan Road Valley
Just as Victor and Brooklyn’s 14th gang guys were digging the earth, a “bad news” came from Washington: their number would be changed from Brooklyn 14th Militia to New York State 84th. Volunteer Infantry Regiment.
The news made the boys of the Brooklyn 14th Regiment very angry. They did not want to have a long history of the troop number. They even began to encourage Victor to ask him to beat the staff, who made the same proposal.
In the end, Commander Edward stopped the nonsense of his men and made them choose another more peaceful way: write a letter to protest, requesting that the army’s name be changed back.
So Victor and the boys of the Brooklyn 14th Militia began writing letters to every high-ranking officer they knew that they could remember. Of course, the most received letter is the owner of ‘little pet’: President Lincoln.
In the end, the efforts of Victor and the boys were not wasted, and their designation was restored. And there is a motto that can be written in the history book:
You are called to serve the United States of America and become the 14th Militia Regiment known to everyone in New York State. This name has been baptized by the flames of war, and as such, the federal government will never have another name that can truly replace you.
Along with this motto came an order to immediately go to the battlefield. This time, their goal was the capital of the Southern Army: Richmond.
Commander Edward summoned Victor immediately after receiving the order, and ordered him to lead his M company as the vanguard to the attack target: Sugan Road Valley for reconnaissance missions.
At this time, the commander of the Southern Army stationed in the Sugan Road Valley was an old friend of the Brooklyn 14th Militia Regiment and a hero of the Southern Army Manassas Battle: ‘Stone Wall’ Jackson.
This time, the commander of the Northern Army who was in charge of the 14th Militia Regiment in Brooklyn was Buck. Buck was an experienced politician, but as a soldier, he was only amateur.
The newly appointed Buck took more than 38,000 well-equipped EFF to the Sugan Road Valley. His mission was to clean up the Southern Army here and lift their threat to the capital, Washington.
Buck, who is self-aware, chose the most conservative way, led his army along the way, and steadily crawled towards their destination.
However, Victor and his M company selected as the vanguard had already arrived in Sugan Road Valley and found the tail of the Southern Army.
While Victor discovered the Southern Army, the Southern Army also discovered them, and the Southern Army commander ‘Stone Wall’ Jackson was preparing his delay plan.
He has only 4,000 people in his hands, but he must delay Buck and his more than 38,000 elite EFF here, and never let the other party occupy the Sugan Road Valley.
But they should not be allowed to bypass this, otherwise Richmond, the capital of the Southern Union, will be in an unprecedented crisis.
Victor’s arrival once made Jackson nervous. His tactical plan had not been arranged yet, and the Northern Army arrived so soon.
But after a few days of small-scale cross-fire trials, he found that only Victor and his M company arrived, and the other northern troops, even the Brooklyn 14th Militia Regiment, did not arrive. Under Buck’s order, they were still on the road.
Therefore, after sending a 500-person force to eliminate ‘these sneaky mice’, he began to deploy his tactical plan with peace of mind.
Obviously he was too small to see Victor and his M company. The original main body of the M company was the veteran of the 5th Cavalry Regiment, who had participated in the War of Independence. He got enough fighting experience.
It can be said that Victor and his M company have no civilians with no military experience, and they are all qualified soldiers, who have gone through hundreds of battles.
Although the Southern Army sent by Jackson is also elite, but there is a guy, Victor, on the EFF side.
As soon as the two sides started fighting, the Southern Army discovered a big problem. The weapon range of the opponent’s hand was far beyond that of the rifle in their hand. They had not yet entered the normal range of engagement, and the opponent could already shoot them.
That’s right, the entire Brooklyn 14th Regiment’s people as President Lincoln’s ‘dog’, the military replaced them all with brand new breech rifles.
The Southern Army, armed with a rifle gun, had little power to fight back in front of the M Company holding a breech rifle. They could only carry their rifles and start accelerating the charge, hoping to enter their own range as soon as possible.
Victor showed his talent in shooting at this time, far beyond ordinary people’s eyesight and steady hands like an old dog gave him unparalleled prerequisites.
With each shot he made, a Southern Army fell, and the adjutant who was shooting on his side was completely reduced to his personal bomber.
After paying dozens of casualties, the Southern Army finally incorporated the M company into their rifle range, but after several rounds of exchange of fire, they finally realized that regardless of the range, reload speed and shooting accuracy, they were all opposed. It’s over.
Then the rest is only the most primitive and bloodiest way: white-blade battle. They took out the bayonet in their waists and started a decisive charge.
While facing the charge of the Southern Army’s decisive blow, Victor, of course, chose to go back.
“Everyone! Get the bayonet! Play the charge!”
With Victor’s order, the soldiers of M Company also carried a bayonet rifle and launched a charge against the Southern Army that was many times their number.
As soon as the two sides contacted, the Southern Army was stabbed and turned over. It turned out that during the days of digging the soil in the waterfall church, as long as there was time, Victor would grasp the soldiers under his hands to practice bayonet.
In fact, it is better to say that he is practicing with bayonet. Although he didn’t know what he did in the end, other people’s bayonet technology has made great progress.
In this white-blade battle, the effect of being severely beaten is manifested. The lack of training of the Southern Army is not their opponent at all
Besides, they also have an Victor. This brother pinched the neck of a southern army officer with one hand, and with one hand holding a good bayonet rifle, he turned seven or eight people to come to the rescue. Southern Army soldiers.
Later, after discovering that the officer was no longer able to attract the enemy, he squeezed his neck and threw it down, knocking over a Southern Army preparing to repair the knife and fall to the ground.
Victor was like a chariot on the battlefield. The Southern Army soldiers were quickly cleared wherever he went.
After the commander found Victor singled out and squeezed to death, the morale of the Southern Army finally collapsed completely, and they began to turn around and escape.
Victor did not order a chase, but ordered the soldiers to clean the battlefield and rescue the wounded. And sent a correspondent to contact Colonel Edward, he needs an explanation: why a few days later, their large unit has not yet arrived.
If the large army has arrived at this time, even the Brooklyn 14th Militia Regiment can seize the opportunity to break through Jackson’s defense line in one fell swoop, and it is not impossible to occupy the entire Sugan Road Valley.
According to what Victor has detected these days, there are about 3,000 to 4,000 people on the opposite side. Both firepower and training level are far from them.
But after all, if you missed it, you missed it. Buck and his army did not reach beyond Sugan Road Valley until three days later.
During this period, although Jackson suffered a large loss in Victor’s hands and damaged more than 100 people, he did not choose to retaliate, and concentrated on deploying his Sugan Road Valley defense plan.
Victor is even less likely to use his 100 men with his wounded to attack Jackson’s 4,000-strong army.
The long-lost Buck did not give Victor an explanation at last, and Victor’s protest was pacified by Colonel Edward.
He and the M Company and A, B, C and D Company will serve as the vanguard of the next attack on Jackson. If they can successfully win the Sugan Road Valley, Victor will be promoted to major.
Victor, blinded by his promotion, was fooled out and began to prepare for the attack on ‘Stone Wall’ Jackson.
In his words, no matter what kind of wall it is, he will make him a muddy wall.
Within three days, under the leadership of Victor, the vanguard of the 14th Militia Regiment of Brooklyn broke through the 11 lines of defense of the Southern Army. And squeezed the ‘stone wall’ Jackson and his troops to the bottom of the valley.
Just as Victor was about to finish his battle, General Buck ordered: The whole army retreated! ‘Stone Wall’ can’t be so brittle! There must be a conspiracy!
General Buck then withdrew more than 38,000 federal elites to Winchester City, and the victorious Victor nearly rushed into the headquarters to find him desperately.
But in the end Colonel Edward stopped him. This time the situation was indeed a bit wrong. The Southern Army did indeed seem to lure the enemy deeper.
In the end, Victor could only accept Colonel Edward’s explanation, and Jackson, who was planning to use the backwaters and the geography to delay the EFF here, was dumbfounded when he learned that Buck had retreated.
Then the news came to make him anxious. After Buck left 11,000 people back to Winchester, the rest of the troops began to go east, preparing to join McLaren to attack Richmond.
After learning the news, Jackson made the most adventurous and most legendary command of his life: to lead the army out of the valley and chase the North Army preparing to return to Winchester.
He succeeded in catching up with the Northern Army on the outskirts of Winchester. Although the number of opponents was more than three times that of him, but he and his brave soldiers launched a charge without turning back.
Then he was completely defeated by the long-hungry Victor.
As soon as the war started, Victor took a command knife and drove directly to Jackson’s location, and all the Southern Army soldiers, who were standing in front of him were cut into corpses.
Under Victor’s leadership, Jackson’s phalanx, like butter, was easily cut in half by a steel knife composed of the Brooklyn 14th Militia Regiment, and the blade of the steel knife was led by Victor point down to the command center, where the ‘stone wall’ is located.
